I am an ESL student. I come to school on Mondays and Wednesdays. I started taking ESL classes in May of 2013. In ESL class we learn vocabulary, grammar, and life-skills. My favorite vocabulary word so far is coax, which means “to convince someone to do something”.

I wake up at 6:00AM to come to school in the morning. After class I like to get lunch at my house. This is my first time taking classes for ESL. Yovanni is one of my many friends at Wayne Community College. Mrs. Arminda was my first teacher, but Mrs. Joyce teaches me now.

Sometimes we have to finish an essay or read vocabulary examples for homework. Once we even took a field trip to ECU! Studying ESL helps me know the best response for most situations. I’d also be interested in studying welding one day when my English is better.
